Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

This intervention focuses on identifying one's thoughts and challenging their impact on one's well being. CBT is used to treat various mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, trauma, etc.  

Play Therapy

Play therapy is a useful intervention used with children, primarily early childhood. Play therapy allows the therapy to be fun and playful which aids children in processing their feelings and thoughts as well as learn age appropriate coping and life skills.

Parent Child Interaction Therapy

Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is a type of therapy used with children ages 2-6 with disruptive behaviors and their caregivers. PCIT focuses on building on the attachment and bond of the caregiver and child then teaches the caregiver appropriate disciplining tools.

Sand Tray Therapy

The use of sand tray in therapy is expressive in which "a person is able to manifest in sand the things they would otherwise not be able to vocalize or address in traditional therapy." (Excerpted from Goodtherapy.org)

School Based Health Services Program

D&K Counseling Group, PLLC focuses on being a pillar in the community by providing stellar mental health services. We want to be able to not only provide these services, but make them as accessible as possible. Our program aims to provide mental health services to children and teens in the setting some struggle the most; the school. By partnering with the schools, we are able to make therapeutic services available in spaces that are familiar and convenient to the individual in need.
